More Drivers Charged in Toledo
The Transport Department continues to clamp down on violators of traffic laws. In the south, two drivers have been taking to court for traffic offences. Oscar Chen, who is employed by Chen’s Bus Company, was fined for failing to produce a road service permit; while Santiago Cucul of Cucul’s Bus Company was charged for carrying excessive passengers on a public service vehicle and failing to keep certificate of registration in motor vehicle at all times. Last Friday, both Chen and Cucul pleaded guilty of the offences and were fined two hundred dollars or in default two months behind bars. In a release, the Department of Transport assures the public that all bus operators and drivers who risk the safety of passengers will be held accountable for their actions and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Drivers and other road users are also urged to comply with the rules of the road and other Traffic Laws.
