Ashley Rocke Calls on P.M. to Intervene
Ever since the unprecedented attack on the media attending the May seventeenth public hearing of the Senate Special Select Committee, the press has been sampling responses on the scope of the attack and the punishment for the perpetrators. For the most part, they have been unanimous that the like should never occur again. Add to that chorus Reverend Ashley Rocke, the Senator representing the church community, although he indicated that his remarks today were his personal view. Rocke told News Five that the leader of the United Democratic Party, Prime Minister Dean Barrow, who has been noticeably silent since the debacle, must speak up and that macebearer Brian “Yellow Man” Audinett must be dealt with according to his important office.
Ashley Rocke, Senator for Churches
“I believe it is the general consensus of the Senate that it was distasteful, right; it shouldn’t have occurred and it brought dissension to the House.”

“So in terms of the penalties and the punishments, what would you expect moving forward?”
Ashley Rocke
“Moving forward I think that should be placed in the hands of the Prime Minister; I think he is the leader of our State. And as it relates to matters of that nature, that gentleman is the macebearer of the House of Representatives; hence wherever he goes, his behaviour ought to represent that role that he plays.”
