Man Discharged from Littering Charge

Glenford Tillett

Thirty-three-year-old fudge vendor Glenford Tillett has been charged with littering after a run-in with police on Saturday. However, he was discharged of the offense by Magistrate Carlon Mendoza. Tillett was sitting in front of Chinese grocer Lina’s Store on Mahogany Street when a police mobile arrived. He was sitting on a cardboard box and police made him leave after ascertaining that he did not work at the store. But as he left, he tore up the box he was sitting on and threw the pieces to the ground. The officer in the mobile made him pick them up but as he was riding off he threw another piece of the box which had been in his bicycle carrier out. The officer approached again and this time arrested him for littering. Tillett pleaded guilty, but was freed after explaining to Magistrate Mendoza.
