West Indies Anglicans protest gay Bishop
Given the consistent warnings of Caribbean Anglicans it should come as no surprise…but the Anglican Archbishop of the West Indies, Drexel Gomez, wasted no time in criticising this week’s decision by the U.S. Episcopal Church to elect an openly gay man as the new Bishop of New Hampshire. In a press release issued on Wednesday, Gomez accused the American Episcopalians, one of thirty-eight independent Anglican provinces, of unilaterally abandoning the traditional teachings of the Christian church and made it clear that the West Indies province will remain faithful to the original Anglican Communion.
