Brave citizen honoured in Cayo

And on a more encouraging note, this week a brave citizen, who nabbed a thief in the act, has been recognised by his community. The Cayo Crime Committee has presented Eduardo Guerra of Santa Elena with a commendation after he rushed to the aid of the driver of a Quality Chicken delivery truck who was being robbed. On July fifteenth, Guerra was one of several people who witnessed the act and even though the suspect was armed with a machete at the time, Guerra neutralized and held him down until the cops arrived. The good Samaritan will also be congratulated for his act of civic pride at a ceremony scheduled for later this year, organized to applaud those who stand up in the face of violence.
