Amandala newspaper hit by robber
Big guns to steal a little bit of money…that seems to be the trend in a spate of robberies to hit Belize City. The latest incident happened on Thursday afternoon at the Amandala press on the Kremandala compound on Partridge Street. Police say that according to manager Jason Barrera, around one-thirty that day, a man he recognized walked into the office, took out what appeared to be an AK-47 and proceeded to help himself to one hundred and fifty dollars in cash. The bandit then went outside, picked up a bicycle parked in the yard and made his getaway. Police, armed with a description of the gunman, have detained one man for questioning, but tonight no one has yet been charged in connection with this crime.
