Cayo man shot over land dispute
Tonight Cayo police are looking for a suspect wanted for questioning in connection with a late night murder on Wednesday. According to authorities, around ten that night residents living along the road to Cristo Rey Village heard the echo of several gunshots. When police arrived the following day to investigate, they found the body of a man lying on the ground with bullet wounds his head, hand, and back. The body was transported to the San Ignacio Hospital where it has since been identified as fifty-seven year old Luis Cardona. Police sources tell News 5 the suspected motive for the murder was a dispute over the very land on which Cardona was found dead.
