New Corozal O.C. Ready to Crack Double-Murder Cases
New O.C. of Corozal Superintendent Sinquest Martinez comes to the job from National Crimes Investigation Branch and the Major Crimes Unit, where he was staff officer. He has thirty-one years of experience, seventeen of those as an investigator. Corozal has been reeling from two double murders of couples – American Drew Devoursney and Canadian Francesca Matus, and Belizeans Zeidy Orosco and Baltazar Lopez – as well as other major incidents. Superintendent Martinez says he plans to share his experience with his fellow cops to bring to ground those responsible. He also notes that the investigations into the double murders continue but there are things police are not ready to share.
Supt. Sinquest Martinez, O.C., Corozal Police
“It might seem like there’s not much happening, but there is a lot of things happening but some of the information we can’t give out as we speak. Recently, since taking over last week, I signed some documents from the F.B.I. that was assessing us and there are further works that we need to do. And yes it is challenging with respect to those two double murders, but the investigation hasn’t been closed as yet and I know the public hasn’t gotten the information needed for them. It is still fresh in everybody’s minds but being here, I will assist my investigations with that likewise because I am aware of it because I was also a part of the investigation of the American and the Canadian double murder investigation. So I knew fully well what’s going on with that investigation.”
Supt. Martinez succeeds Senior Superintendent Dennis Arnold.
