Duo Unable to Ditch Weed on Southside
A Corozal along with a Belize City man is tonight out on bail after they were arraigned for drug trafficking. Both were busted on Tuesday with almost four and a half pounds of weed in the Port Loyola area of Belize City. Just before midday, a patrol on Louise Bevans Street, in the south side of Belize City drove up on a Geo Prizm car which was occupied at the time by two construction workers, twenty-year-old Jesus Emmanuel Valera of Corozal Town and twenty-eight-year-old Calvin Jerome Cattouse of Tibruce Street, Belize City.
Upon seeing the police patrol, the men sped off onto Central American Boulevard, but were seen throwing a package out of the car. They were later apprehended; the discarded package retrieved and inside was a bag with cannabis. This afternoon the men were arraigned and received bail of one thousand five hundred each. They are to return to court on September twenty-ninth.
