Dangriga domestic quarrel ends in death

A domestic dispute in Dangriga turned deadly over the weekend and tonight two children are without their mother. According to police sources in that southern town, just after seven on Sunday evening, twenty-eight year old Delma Lucas was at her home at First New Site when her former common-law husband and the father of her two children, twenty-five year old Anthony Pop, showed up. Pop was upset because he had not been invited to his child’s graduation ceremony and the two got into an argument. But in the middle of the heated discussion Pop says Lucas slapped him and he pulled out a knife… stabbing Lucas twice, once on her right forearm and another in the throat. Lucas was rushed to the Southern Regional Hospital, but she died while undergoing treatment. Pop has been detained and Dangriga police say he will be charged with murder.
