Police promotions announced

In other police news, the department has announced the most recent round of senior staff promotions. Promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner are Senior Superintendent Gerald Westby and, as previously reported, Acting Senior Superintendent Maureen Leslie. Westby’s appointment is retroactive to December first 2002, while Leslie’s runs from April first of this year. Leslie was also confirmed as Senior Superintendent from December first, as was Edwardo Wade. Both had previously been acting in that capacity. Also moved from an acting role to the substantive post of police superintendent, were Noel Leal and James Magdaleno. These promotions also take effect from last December. Six new inspectors have been named, effective April first. They are former Assistant Inspectors Marlon Allen and Cardinal Smith, along with former Sergeants Santiago Ciau, Chester Williams, Eugene Fuentes and Moses Aranda.
