Prevail Combat calls junior jiu-jitsus
On Monday, we reported that the Prevail Combat Club of Belize City hauled in thirteen medals, eight of which are gold, when they participated in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition held in Mexico over the weekend. Jameel Smith wants to promote the sport among youths and calls for them to join an upcoming program for those interested in learning more about the sport.
Jameel Smith, Prevail Combat Club
“One of my teammates at Prevail Combat Club is starting a kids program for Jiu-Jitsu for kids. It is from 5 to 13 I believe. The info is on our Facebook page Prevail Combat Club. So, if you have kids that are interested or just want to check out, you can get the information from our page. It is something for the kids to do after school and to take up their time. So, if anyone is interested, just check that out for your kids.”

“And they don’t necessarily need experience?”
Jameel Smith
“No. They don’t need any experience. They are gonna instruct them from nothing at all. It is just to build the sport. We want to build the sport in Belize. We have success but like we are older, we are the older team. We want to build it from the ground up for success, so want to build it up with little kids and so that is what we are trying to do.”
