Former Mayor Philip de la Fuente Comes Home to U.D.P.
Offering himself once more as mayoral hopeful for the United Democratic Party is a return to form for Phillip De La Fuente who parted ways with the U.D.P. in 2015, to run for the Belize Progressive Party. Despite his estrangement from the U.D.P., De La Fuente maintains that his values as a patriot and a genuine politician who cares about his country and its people have never wavered.
Philip De la Fuente, U.D.P. Mayoral Candidate, OW
“Yes, I was with the Belize Progressive Party but I will say that I have never changed my ideals, I have never changed my goals. I have always and will always want what is best for my country and my town. Under the U.D.P. right now, we will be delivering some excellent projects that, well it can only be done under the United Democratic Party. So with that being said I, again, will ask for your support for us to get some of those projects done. We have our manifesto, we have some ideas and the United Democratic Party will be working along with this town council to improve what we have in Orange Walk. But yes, my ideas, my aims, my goals for my country has never changed.”

“How formidable is this slate given the current political dynamics in the Orange Walk District?”
Philip De la Fuente
“The question is how formidable is this slate? We have a group of young and not so young people on this slate. We are not claiming that we will have all of the answers but what we can promise and pledge to the people of Orange Walk is that we will be doing our best to get things done for Orange Walk Town. We will be working on some of our projects before elections. So the people of Orange Walk can see that we are serious and we want to get things done for them. But we do have a dynamic team.”
