P.S.U. Call for Works, Health to be Investigated as Well

Meanwhile, the Public Service Union states in its release that corruption has been increasingly reported not only at Lands, but at the Ministries of Works and Health.  It says it welcomes government’s initiative to extensively investigate allegations of fraud and corruption at the Ministry of Natural Resources, and calls for the same at the Ministries of Works and Health respectively. In a telephone interview with News Five, P.S.U. president Doreth Cayetano-Obermayer says public officers have complained loud and long about conditions at all three ministries and now the Government must take heed.

“We have gotten extensive complaints that certain things are happening within these various Ministries, within the Departments of all these Ministries and we expected that the Government of the day will look into it. Task the respective ministers for these Ministries to start to do what is right for the public officers, for the public on a whole especially when are coming on to Ministry of Health. That’s another aspect; that there is corruption happening within these ministries and for some reason it is not brought to light, and we are saying that it is time and overtime that these things be addressed and followed through, so that at the end of the day we are working toward the minimizing of corruption within our various ministries and departments.”
