Butane prices drop drastically
The drop in worldwide petroleum prices continues to trickle down to Belize and today was felt in the form of radically lower rates for imported butane gas. New retail prices for a one hundred pound cylinder are sixty-three dollars in Belize City, sixty-five for Belmopan, sixty-six in San Ignacio, sixty-seven in Benque Viejo, sixty-two for Orange Walk and Corozal, sixty-six in Dangriga and sixty-seven dollars in Punta Gorda. The reduction of over ten percent amounted to seven dollars per cylinder, except in the two southern towns, which saw a four-dollar reduction.
