Electric Ave. resident charged w/attempted murder
Police have arrested another usual suspect in connection with several crimes. Twenty year old Jamal Betancourt has been charged with attempted murder, dangerous harm and discharging a firearm in public. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on April twenty-third at the corner of George and Basra streets in which forty year old Nelson Bowen was shot in the back. Betancourt was also wanted for questioning in the April seventeenth robbery of Gaylord’s store on King Street, the assault of its security and shooting of a fourteen-year-old student. Police expect to arraign Betancourt for those crimes in the very near future.
