Street gambling turns into city shooting spree

A street side gambling session turned into a shooting spree in Belize City over the weekend, leaving two men charged with several crimes. According to police, twenty-four year old Jason Williams was hanging out with friends on Kraal Road when something triggered the young man to start hitting a parked car with his fists and then with a bicycle. Apparently Williams then left the area, only to return with a gun, which he fired several times at the ground. At this point, another man, identified as twenty-four year old Kent Skeet, got hold of the gun and he started firing. That’s when the calvary showed up and the gunslingers responded by shooting at the officers. No one was injured in the melee and tonight both Williams and Skeet are arrested. Williams is charged with two counts of damage to property, three counts of attempted murder, one count of aggravated assault and one count of discharging an unlicensed firearm. Skeet is charged with aggravated assault and discharging an unlicensed firearm.
