Mark Staine charged for Aggravated Assault of minor

And in the Magistrates’ Court, twenty-four year old Mark Staine was charged with the Aggravated Assault of a nine year old girl. Staine pleaded not guilty to the charge and the prosecution was quick to object to bail. Magistrate Albert Hoare agreed and Staine was remanded in custody until June eighteenth, his trial date. The girl reported to police that on May thirty-first, she was at home babysitting her four month old brother when Staine came and grabbed her by her hand. She further told the police that Staine pulled her into her mother’s bedroom, lifted her skirt and sexually abused her. The minor also said that Staine told her not to tell anyone. On examination it was certified that she had been grievously harmed. There are reports that Staine is also being investigated for a similar incident involving an eight year old girl.
