Stann Creek teen killed by truck
A young girl from the Stann Creek District is dead tonight, the victim of a traffic accident on the Southern Highway. According to police, just after six on Sunday evening, fifteen year old Suzie Teul of Maya Mopan Village had just gotten off a bus near mile twenty-five and was running across the road when she was knocked down by a dump truck. Teul was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Police have arrested and charged the driver of the truck, twenty-one year old Timmy Reimer of Spanish Lookout, with manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct and driving without due care and attention. Prior to the accident, Teul had been attending a church function in the Cayo District.
