Security Company, Police Eye Guard for Breach Following Shooting at Princess
A security guard attached to Technical Security Systems Company Limited out of Cayo is tonight in police custody following a shooting incident at the parking lot of the Ramada Belize City Princess Hotel and Casino. Thirty-three-year-old Glenford Brown has been working at the establishment for some time now, but around three on Sunday morning, he went about it all wrong to diffuse a dispute that started inside Club Elite. Reports are that after an altercation started between two groups, they were escorted outside the night club, where the contention quickly escalated into a fight. Brown, who was armed at the time with a twelve-gauge Mossberg sawed-off shotgun, fired a single round on to the pavement in effort to disperse the crowd. But that attempt backfired; bullet fragments ricocheted off the pavement and caught twenty-one-year-old Tyrin Faber to the chest and forearm. The Faber’s Road resident was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he remains in a stable condition. Meanwhile, Brown is still in custody. According to the company, the security guards under their employ are well-trained and the shot to the pavement is against protocol. As police investigations continue, the company is also reviewing what occurred.
