Corozal man drowns while fishing
A fisherman from Corozal drowned over the weekend while out with friends. Reports are that fifty-two year old Thomas Narvaez of Santa Rita layout left Corozal Town on Saturday evening heading north to the Yakuna Bay area for an overnight fishing trip. According to his companions, Narvaez left the group around 2:00 a.m. to check the nets. But a short time later, Narvaez was heard screaming, and despite attempts by his friends to revive him, he was pronounced dead on arrival at the Northern Regional Hospital. Police do not suspect foul play, but a post mortem has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
