Harvest Caye Still ‘Alcatraz’ for FECTAB

Is Norwegian Cruise Lines’ Harvest Caye crippling the tour operators of the Fort Street Tourism Village?  President of FECTAB, Tom Greenwood, says that the NCL ships have taken away about thirty percent of the tourists who arrive at the Belize City Port. Here’s how Greenwood describes the reality on the ground for his members.

“Today, Harvest Caye is open; NCL has disappeared despite the fact that it was publicly published and said that NCL would keep a presence in Belize City as well as down there, to the point where I strongly recommended to them by writing to NCL as FECTAB to say,  look I invite you to bring your ships here or a ship here and then also the second day to go to Harvest Caye and that is two days in Belize because Belize has become iconic in terms of what it can offer; you know that. Well, we took a loss there. That loss represented perhaps about thirty percent loss of cruise presence that means thousands of cruise passengers per week just evaporated.”

So i must run my business in the way that suits you best? Your operators should
Learn manners and then perhaps more ships won’t move to magical
    Port
