Pawnshop Robbed in Belmopan
Three persons are tonight in police custody pending further investigation into the armed robbery of a pawn shop in the Capital City of Belmopan. Around nine-thirty on Thursday morning, police responded to reports of a robbery at First Stop Pawn Shop on Constitution Drive. There, the manager, twenty-four-year-old Alexia Neal reported that she was along with a co-worker when they were accosted by two male persons who entered the pawnshop and held them at gunpoint. The gunman demanded that she opened the bar gate, which she did and they gained access to the safe. The thieves escaped with a total of fifty-nine thousand five hundred dollars in cash and assorted jewelry. They also escaped with a Samsung Galaxy cell phone valued at one thousand four hundred dollars. But police believe they have the men in custody and confirmed today that they’ve recovered some of the stolen jewelry. Investigations continue.
