Dangriga Taximan Found with Throat Slit on Southern Highway
While police put more boots on the ground in the city, police in southern Belize continue investigations into the apparent murder of thirty-two-year-old Jose Alfredo Majil, a taxi operator based in Dangriga. Majil’s body was found around seven this morning by an attendant at an orange orchard about one hundred yards from the Southern Highway between miles one and two. The scene is across from a dumpsite in the area. Majil, a taxi operator originally from Orange Walk, was observed with a large cut wound to the throat. He lay near a red Ford Focus with Dangriga license plates. Information from the area says he was last seen alive by a gas station attendant on Thursday night around six when he went to get gas. Majil leaves behind a common-law wife and was well spoken of in town. Investigations into his murder continue.
