Wife Perishes, Husband Hospitalized after Traffic Collision
Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the south. On Saturday between miles eleven and twelve on the Southern Highway, thirty-five-year-old Allen Andrews of Sittee River was driving a motorcycle, accompanied by his wife Melissa Andrews, nee Murrillo. They were heading to Silk Grass village when, according to police, the couple was hit from behind by a white pick-up truck traveling in the same direction. Murrillo perished on the spot; her husband remains in a stable condition at the Southern Regional Hospital in Dangriga.

“Dangriga police is investigating it as a traffic accident, but it is an open investigation and they are appealing to the public for any assistance they can get in solving this matter. The police are looking for a white pickup, possibly double wheel at the back. They are following several leads, but are still open to any other information which can assist in the information.”
This evening, a family member indicated that Allen Andrews is still hospitalized, recovering from surgery to fix internal hemorrhage. He is also reported to have difficulty with his memory.
