Money in Minutes: Corozal Western Union Robbed
Up north, Corozal is experiencing a spike in burglaries and robberies. A robber made off with ten thousand dollars from the Western Union outlet in Corozal Town around nine this morning. Twenty-eight-year-old Doris Montejo reported to police that she was inside the western union office on Fourth Street when a man approached her holding what appeared to be a firearm under his shirt. Montejo said that the man demanded that she hand over a purse telling her, “don’t shout, hand over the money.” Fearing for her life, Montejo handed over a bag that contained ten thousand dollars in cash, which is the property of western union. The man also took Montejo’s purse containing one hundred dollars in cash, as well as a cell phone. The robber made good his escape.
