Police Meet and Greet in Jane Usher; No Interviews
The crime-ridden community of Port Loyola known as Jane Usher Boulevard has been designated as a hotspot by the Belize Police Department, following a recent spate of shootings in that neighborhood. Since launching Operation ACT a week and a half ago, there has been a round-the-clock presence of law enforcement in the area and incidences of crime and violence seem to have been stemmed. Today, Eastern Division South Commander Marco Vidal, along with a team of officers, visited the location and met with residents. While they declined interviews with the media, the usual door-to-door campaign was being conducted in the vicinity of the basketball court. Incidentally, it is just a stone’s throw from Mud Street, where the murder of Keith Middleton was recorded on October sixteenth.
