Still No Arrests in Heist of Western Union, Corozal
There are still no arrests to be made in a heist that saw thieves make off with ten thousand dollars in cash from a Western Union branch in Corozal Town on Monday morning. As we reported, twenty-eight-year-old Doris Montejo was held up at gunpoint and relieved of a substantial amount of cash at her place of work on Fourth Street. Despite recovering a purse and cell phone belonging to Montejo, police are no closer to making an arrest, though it is believed that the area where the items were found is the neighborhood where the culprit resides.
ASP Alejandro Cowo, O.C., C.I.B., Belize City
“Three persons have been detained. They had been dealt with by the police but they have been released because of the little information that we had received. But I know that they had recovered one of the purses belonging to the female and a cell phone in a neighborhood where the suspects live, you know, but apparently we don’t have anything direct to point that it was them that were involved. So the matter is still being investigated.”

“The persons who were detained, is it believed that they are related to the other robbers that you had indicated last week was a ring of persons committing crime in that area?”
ASP Alejandro Cowo
“No. They are different persons. They are separate from that one that I mentioned last week.”
Reporter
“And is there any indication that it might have been an inside job? I mean this woman was walking around with ten thousand dollars in her purse.”
ASP Alejandro Cowo
“Well it is something that we are looking at all angles to determine what exactly was the motive and if there was anybody else behind the motive.”
Reporter
“Okay, were there any security cameras or security officers at the establishment that could determine…”
ASP Alejandro Cowo
“No.”

This will never be solved by the incompetent police
