D.F.C. staff receives wage increase

Having watched their colleagues in the civil service receive long awaited wage hikes, the permanent staff of the D.F.C. will also enjoy a raise-a-pay in the near future. This follows the signing of an agreement last Friday between that company and the Christian Worker’s Union. It reflects an overall increase of fifteen percent, five percent each year, retroactive to July first of 2001 and running through June thirtieth, 2004. The arrears will be paid in a lump sum after taxes are deducted. The quasi-governmental organisation has also agreed on a further two percent increase for the third year on the condition that there is at least five percent G.D.P. growth during that twelve-month period. Other significant adjustments include an increase in transport allowance for employees who use their vehicle for company work and longer maternity leave.
