Robbers jack resort’s $8,000 payroll
Three robbers are eight thousand dollars richer this Valentine’s weekend after they stole the payroll of Jaguar Paw Resort. The incident occurred around two on Thursday afternoon on a dirt road two miles away from the popular tourist destination, which is located about six miles off the Western Highway at mile thirty-seven. According to Victor Cardosa, an employee of Jaguar Paw, he was heading toward the resort with four tourists when he heard a loud noise under his vehicle. Cardosa stopped to see what it was and as he was about to get out, a masked gunman shot several times in his direction. Having gotten Cardosa’s attention, the gunman searched the car and found the eight thousand dollars that was in the vehicle’s glove compartment. Cardosa said that two more gunmen were also waiting in the bush with handguns pointed in his direction. Before the robbers could shake down the tourists, however, a tour bus rumbled down the road and the jackers fled into the jungle. No one was injured in the incident, but the car’s tire was blown out and shotgun pellets were lodged in the rear of the vehicle.
