Suspect arrested in fiery assault
A Belize City man has been arrested in connection with an attack on his girlfriend, which left her severely burned. Twenty-year-old Jervis Valencia Diamond, a resident of Mayflower Street, has been charged with attempted murder, dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm. It is alleged that on Tuesday afternoon, Diamond, following an argument at the home of his girlfriend, Sheldan Middleton, doused her with a flammable liquid and set her on fire with a match. Middleton was hospitalised with burns to her scalp, head and torso.
