A resolution to school land impasse in Las Flores

Ralston Frazer

When we last left the matter of the two parcels of land located next to the Roman Catholic community school in Las Flores, Belmopan, residents were up in arms, demanding that the purchaser return them. Leader of the Belmopan Catholic Mission, Father Jordan Gongora, told community residents he had not agreed to proposals made by the Belmopan City Council to resolve the issue. But it appears that an agreement has now been reached, according to Deputy Mayor Ralston Frazer.

“I don’t know that I am fully updated with that situation, but I will tell you that as far as I am concerned, as far as I know, the situation has been resolved; the priest from that school had visited with Mayor Belisle and they had come to a conclusion in how that matter is going to be resolved.”

“So that’s pretty much under the bridge? The school would remain there on the land, pretty much?”

Ralston Frazer

“That’s pretty much under the bridge. As far as I can tell, yes.”
