P.U.P.’s party caucus to meet, will votes count?
As it relates to the position of the People’s United Party, that will be taken on Wednesday afternoon at a parliamentary caucus. The party leader, John Briceño, returned to the country this afternoon and reserved comment in light of the scheduled meeting. Their position, however, can hardly affect the outcome of the vote in the House, once the government votes against the ninety million dollar payment. Notwithstanding, there is the question of the respect for the rule of law, in this case, the ruling of Belize’s highest court, the Caribbean Court of Justice. Sources say that this is an area which the opposition is minded to vigorously defend.
