Watch out for counterfeit currency
Today was payday for most Belizeans, but if you find yourself in a dimly lit bar this weekend, don’t be in any rush to give change for anything bigger than a twenty. That’s right, counterfeit currency is back in circulation. The police department has issued a warning to watch out for bogus fifties, two of which were passed this week bearing the same serial number: A247379. Another business house has reported receiving a phoney blue note, but handed it back to the bearer when it looked suspicious.
