Hit and run killer sought by cops
Police are looking for a hit and run driver who knocked down a pedestrian Saturday night on the Western Highway. Thirty-two year old Jose Felix Barrera, a Guatemalan resident of Orange Walk, was struck from behind while walking between miles thirty-six and thirty-seven around 9:00 p.m. The driver, heading in the direction of Belmopan, did not stop. Nearby residents called police and Barrera’s body was taken to Belmopan hospital where it was pronounced dead on arrival. Tonight authorities are appealing to anyone who may have information on this crime to please call the nearest police station.
