Traffic accident victim succumbs to injuries
A woman involved in a traffic accident on New Year’s Day has succumbed to her injuries. Fifty-six year old Ging Mei Lin Chan died of severe head injuries at Universal Health Services on Wednesday. Police reports are that Chan was a passenger in a Toyota Hilux pick-up heading towards Belize City when a head-on collision occurred between the Hilux and a Ford pick-up between miles twenty and twenty-one on the Western Highway. At the wheel of the Toyota at the time was Chan’s husband, sixty-two year old Long Hsung Chan. He and two other passengers, twenty-four year old Liu Yu Ming and two year old Kai Chun Chan, were released from the hospital last week after treatment for various injuries. Driving the Ford was forty-one year old James Sanchez, who along with forty-eight year old passenger, Jacob Westby, suffered only bruises. Police have not yet filed any charges, as their investigations are still incomplete.
