Chinese Businessman Stripped of $63,000 by Robbers
A brazen robbery took place this morning on Cran Street in north side Belize City. A Chinese businessman was approached by two armed men in his vehicle and forced to surrender more than sixty thousand dollars in cash and cheques as well as his car keys. The robbers got away fairly easily and no one was injured, but police are now hot on their trail. The head of the Crimes Investigation Branch for Eastern Division tells us more.

“Just a while ago they had a robbery at Cran Street. A Chinese business owner, one of the shops of that location – don’t have the name at this moment – was travelling on Cran Street where he was stopped by two male person with a firearm and he was robbed of his belongings totaling an amount of ten thousand dollars in cash and about fifty-three thousand dollars in cheques. At present, police are in the area conducting searches to see if we could establish the identity of the two suspects that were involved in this robbery.”
