Did Family Conspire to Kill Missing Mark Pollard? Recording Made of Threats
Belize City resident forty-nine-year-old Mark Pollard has been missing since July 2017. Tonight, the questions are whether he is dead, and did family members have anything to do with it? This afternoon at a press conference in Belize City, a bombshell was dropped when a recording was released. Jose Luis Espat, who has been consulting with several families of missing persons in recent months, convened the briefing to allow the families of three missing men an opportunity to vent their frustrations with the police’s investigations. As we reported last week, new evidence appears to have tilted the scale from disappearance to homicide. Pollard’s son revealed today a voicemail allegedly left by a family member living outside of Belize. This person has demanded access to the family property and insinuated that Mark was killed because of it. We air the recording mostly unedited.

“Hello, Malcolm, this is [bleep]. I have pastor going to be talking to you about my father’s house. I’ll be in Belize shortly, so I will need the key for my father’s house, please give it to [bleep]. I’m coming with my attorney, to get all paperwork taken care of, because I found out from Lands Department that my father was not paying for that property for over eight years – none of those properties was paid for. So whatever your intention is, I want you to get a clear mind, this is no joke. When I come to Belize, we have to have a serious talk, because everything you worry about, everything belongs to you and that is the farthest from the truth. So get it together because I’ll be in Belize soon because I need a place to stay because I have no place to stay. That’s my father’s place and I’m going to take my father’s house, and take care of this property that you cannot take care of. If we have to go to court, Malcolm, we are going to court, because I’m not gonna come to Belize and have no kind of argument with you completely concerning no property, that you don’t know these property buy. So I’m warning you right now, hand over that key to [bleep] when he calls you; that’s all I’m asking you, because I have no place to stay. So I need my father’s house, and I expect that those people have already left that house. Call me back and let me know what your intention [is], okay, because nobody cannot claim nothing that nobody paying property [taxes] on, okay? For eight years none of them property was paid. So let me know what your intention [is] before I get to Belize. I’m not coming down there to argue with you; I just want you to hand over that key, because I have no place to put my stuff and you know I work with the police, so you’re not going to win. I’m begging you right now, in Jesus Christ’ name, hand over that key, and get rid of the [bleep], because you cannot handle any of them property. That’s why Mark got killed, because of those properties. That’s all I’m saying to you. Okay.”

“I got these messages in late November, voice messages came in from a specific person in the family, stating that she [is] requesting me to hand over property and key to a house which was passed down from my grandmother to my father.”
