Is the Police Doing Enough to Find Jamal Humes?
Jamal Humes is another missing man we’ve been reporting on since December twenty-seventh. Earlier this week, the family said the police was doing enough. ASP Alejandro Cowo said today that the department has been working to help the family find their loved one.

“I know that the Police Department has been doing more than what they family believes. We have been with them several times, several days in muddy areas, in swampy areas, inside of lagoons, fishing ponds, searching for this body where they claim the person might be, along with Coast Guard and other police officers. Every information that we are getting from them, it is being followed. I just want to mention that that information about the vehicle in Corozal – it was me who gave the family that information. It didn’t come from anybody – it was me who told them. I knew about that information and I was just sharing with them what information I receive.”

“Sir, the family claimed that there was a friend who was very close to him was seen with his tennis a couple days later; is he a person of interest in this case?”

“The other thing is that we always advise the people when they make a report that they must be certain and aware what was the last item of clothing the person was wearing. The initial report that we had received from the family had not mentioned the tennis. That tennis came about while they were out searching that that is the missing person tennis. That person was brought into question and he explained to us how he came about with that tennis. We brought the family and explained the situation and they kept insisting and said no, it is the other way. Finally, they came back and said that it was not that tennis; it was another tennis the male person was wearing. So, all that information that they have been giving to us, the police is following it up.”
