Man found dead near bridge in Cayo
San Ignacio police are tonight investigating how a man found dead on the road met his maker. According to the cops, just after 8:00 Thursday morning they received reports that a man was lying on the road near the Santa Elena side of the diversion bridge. Officers transported the man to the San Ignacio Town Hospital where medical authorities declared him dead on arrival. He has since been identified as fifty year old Santos Velasquez, a resident of the area. A post-mortem has been scheduled to establish a cause of death, but at this time police do not believe foul play was involved.
