Belizeans to be honoured with British awards
In news from the office of the Governor General, this year seven Belizeans have been chosen to be honoured by the Queen with appointments to the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. To be an Ordinary Officer of the Civil Division of the said Most Excellent Order, Chief Meteorologist Carlos Fuller and Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord have been awarded for their public service. Chosen to be Ordinary Members of the Civil Division of the said Most Excellent Order are Santiago Castillo Jr. and Edward “Billy Musa Sr. for their contributions to sport and the community. Vincent Delvorine Parks, Therese Bedran Stark, and Rosendo Urbina Sr., have been cited for their services to education and the community. The recipients will be presented with their O.B.E. and M.B.E. awards at a special ceremony to be announced later.
