Jackie Willoughby Got Explanation on Slander from P.S.U.
Ten days ago, former president and long-serving executive of the Public Service Union, Jacqueline Willoughby, severed ties with the union, although she continues to complete her remaining duties as a trustee. She accuses certain members of the P.S.U. Council of Management of repeatedly slandering her with accusations that she dishonestly obtained union funds, a charge she denies. Through attorney, Senior Counsel Michel Chebat, she has written the P.S.U.’s president, Doreth Cayetano-Obermayer, questioning what she has done to prevent and deter those responsible for the alleged slander. According to Cayetano-Obermayer, Willoughby has been told in response that the union has and will address the issue internally.

“I had a verbal conversation with Sister Willoughby, and I indicated to her that I had addressed it, I had brought it up and it was dealt with. She got a response as to what was done from my standpoint as the president of the Public Service Union to address the situation around the table of the Council of Management.”
