Four suspects nabbed in Spanish Lookout robbery
Four men will appear in court tomorrow to answer charges of robbery and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. The charges against Guatemalans Freddy and Carlos Vasquez, Honduran Porfilio del Cid, and Belizean Kenny de Paz are in connection with Monday evening’s robbery of a Quality Poultry truck near Spanish Lookout. Shortly after the incident, police found an abandoned Suburban S.U.V. on a feeder road between Billy White Village and Duck Run. Items recovered from the vehicle include a mask, liquor, cellular phone and fifty dollars in shillings. Over eighteen hundred dollars has also been recovered at the house of one of the suspects. Police believe this is a portion of the eight thousand dollars stolen in the hold-up. Three of the men were captured Tuesday evening, while Carlos Vasquez was nabbed at his house in San Ignacio today during a stakeout. The two employees robbed, Carlos Perez de la Rosa and Kevin Tun, were heading from San Ignacio to Spanish Lookout around four-thirty Monday evening when three gunmen forced them to stop and subsequently robbed them.
