Wave Radio hosts kids Christmas party

This afternoon, approximately one hundred and forty primary school children from throughout the city gathered at Bird’s Isle for a Christmas party. The event is the second annual toy drive coordinated by employees of WAVE Radio. The little ones were fed lunch and given gift bags but the highlight of the party was definitely the games.
Olden Young, Program Director, Wave Radio
“The children are coming from different primary schools from throughout the city. We got in contact with the teacher and asked them to just send who they think are the most deserving young children, who wouldn’t normally have a pleasant Christmas this year. And we would do our best to go out of the way to make sure they have a little brighter Christmas this year.
I must say thanks to all the folks who helped us this year, to the business community, it was a little bit hard, a lot of folks in the business community, we wouldn?t say are crying, but the fact is they are feeling the economic pinch really hard this Christmas, so it was a little bit harder to squeeze something out of them, but at the end we were able to gather more than enough gifts. So what we’ll do after today is we’ll have more gifts available and we’ll see how we could distribute those to as many more children as possible.”
