Mellow Out on Sunday with Bob Marley and Dara Robinson at Birds Isle
There is another concert taking place this weekend. Dara Robinson wants you to come out and support the sixteenth annual Bob Marley Tribute and Food Drive on Sunday. The annual fundraiser will feature Bob Marley’s music and performance from local entertainers. The show kicks off at four p.m. at the Bird’s Isle with a cover charge of ten dollars. Robinson says he is accepting donation of food items at the tribute.

“It is all in aid of raising some much needed fund for the program. Nothing much different this year other than I included a band. We have a band who call themselves ‘Singers and Players of Instrument’ lone veteran in the business who will do a session of tribute to Bob Marley. Otherwise, I have mi DJ and thing and I will show some Bob Marley performance on the screen. But the important thing is, we di ask the people fi come out because without the people support nothing will happen. We di ask, if you could bring wah food item, it is not a must but if you can afford bring a food item. We nuh the charge the pickney unda 12 so if you bring yuh pickney mek ih bring wah lee can food. We nuh just the money fi food and thing. Yuh have maintenance like burners di go in, pots di get old, plates broken up, water bill and so weneed finance as much as possible. Normally, the show would gross about five thousand dollars after expenses and I would want to double that so we could do much more. The only way we could do that is for the people to come out and support and pay fi go in.”
Dara’s programme goes back eleven years and feeds up to forty primary school students from across the city.
