B.S.I. employees spread Christmas cheer

Story Picture
They don’t get a lot of publicity, but for the second consecutive year, employees at the Belize Sugar Industries office in Belize City are spreading Christmas cheer for those at the Sister Cecilia Home for the Elderly. Cashier at B.S.I.’s Storage Department, Sophia Contreras, says the activity is meant to brighten the lives of the residents.

“We decided to come back again because it’s for old people, and old people have nobody to take them out of town to see the lights, so we decided lets come and do this and brighten up their Christmas. It’s a community service to help them that are not outside. And I believe that the lights will at least brighten up something for them.”

Several other organisations have also planned holiday activities for the Sister Cecilia residents.
