P.M. Says U.D.P. Will Fight Back

Aside from winning the boxes in Orange Walk North for the first time, the P.U.P. would also win in the Orange Walk East constituency, which was won handsomely in the last general elections by Elodio Aragon Junior.  The Prime Minister acknowledged the P.U.P. strength up north.

“P.U.P. won a handsome victory in the Leader of the Opposition’s hometown and we concede and salute that and of course they picked up Corozal which has always been fairly marginal either way it goes and it continues to be marginal, but again a win is a win.  Going forward we are energized by the fact that at this juncture, notwithstanding it’s ten years on, notwithstanding the so-called voter fatigue element, notwithstanding the difficulties, we have encountered, the blows we have withstood, some of these blows to some extent self-inflicted. I concede that they won a sweeping victory in Orange Walk, as you say, across all the constituencies.  I can tell you this though, Elodio Aragon is not going to let that go by the board, and that’s all I will say.”
