2 Ministers, 2 C.E.O.’s for National Security
On Sunday afternoon, following a twenty-four-hour period of wanton bloodshed in Belize City, Prime Minister Dean Barrow announced a reshuffling of Cabinet to allow for a new crime fighting strategy to be implemented. The streamlining of the portfolios for defense and home affairs, to become once again the Ministry of National Security, sees John Saldivar returning to the helm of that ministry. The hasty decision made public during a press conference following an emergency Cabinet meeting was bereft of a Chief Executive Officer being named. News Five understands that C.E.O.s George Lovell and Felix Enriquez, from home affairs and defense, respectively, will remain in their individual posts. Minister of State Elodio Aragon who was the Junior Minister of Home Affairs under Wilfred Elrington is now second in command of the Ministry of National Security.
