Mario Oddulio Stabbed and Decomposing in Trio

A Guatemalan national was the third murder victim for the weekend. Thirty-six-year-old Mario Oddulio’s body was discovered in Trio Village, about four miles from the junction with the Southern Highway.  Around five on Sunday evening, police were called out to the scene where they found Oddulio’s body dressed in only boxer shorts. The already decomposing body had multiple stab wounds to the chest. Today, ASP Alejandro Cowo told the media that robbery appears to have been the motive.

“Information was received by Independence Police and they proceeded to an area which is about four miles from the junction into Trio Village and there they observed the motionless body of a male person lying in a drain. The person was observed with multiple stab wounds to the chest and upon inspection of the body, police were able to observes that the male person was only wearing boxers at the time. Family members who arrived on the scene identified him as Mario Oddulio thirty-six-year-old Guatemalan national of Trio Village. The information that police has gathered so far is that Mister Mario was last seen alive on Friday, thetwenty-third, when he had left from Trio Village to go and cash his check and see his employer at one of the orchards in the area. Police also inspected the scene and about a thousand feet away from the crime scene; police were able to recover other parts of the deceased’s clothing; the pants, tennis and the groceries that he had purchased. His motorcycle that he was driving at the time of the incident is missing.”

“It is suspected that it is a robbery involved as his other personal documents and money that he had cashed his check is missing and his motorcycle is also missing. The body was also in the first stage of decomposition. I cannot tell you how long the body was on the scene but it was brought in this morning from Independence and the post-mortem is on the way. At this time we don’t have any suspects but police are investigating the matter.”
