Police Nab Accused Killer of Emmerson Anderson
Police have also made an arrest in the murder of forty-four-year-old Emmerson Anderson who was killed six days ago at the long barracks at the corner of Sibun and Ebony Streets in Belize City. While he was not the intended target, it is believed that two persons he was playing dice with managed to escape the barrage of bullets unleashed by a gunman who opened fire on the unsuspecting men. Today, twenty-year-old Anthony Lloyd Reyes, a barber of Mayflower Street, was charged with the murder. Here is C.I.B. Inspector Wilfredo Ferrufino with details:
Insp. Wilfredo Ferrufino, C.I.B., Belize City
“The other incident – rather the arrest in regards to the murder of Mr. Emmerson Anderson. This was in regard to the shooting of Mr. Anderson on the twenty-eighth of March; he passed away that night sometime around nine p.m. after being shot shortly before nine. That led to the arrest of Anthony Reyes, a twenty-year-old barber of a Mahogany Street address. He was arrested and charged on the second of April with the crime of murder in regard to Mr. Anderson’s murder.”
